(I didn't post this in Classic TV because some of the shows are still on TV....MSN doesn't include daytime soap operas on this list... currently-running shows' season counts don't include current season)

Isn't TPIR celebrating its 40th season this fall? And if you count the Bill Cullen version from 1956 to 1965 and the syndicated versions, you get much more than 44 seasons.
 
"The Real World" is an anomaly because it started with one cycle a year- running around 22 episodes at a half a hour a piece. Then they switched to 2 cycles per year- 13 episodes at an hour a piece.

Regardless, next year will mark its 20th anniversary, so it has certainly stood the test of time.
