MSNBC Has a Winner: Keith Olbermann Now Beating CNN

TV Newser: Q1 '06: MSNBC's Olbermann Beats CNN's Zahn & HLN's Grace In The Demo

In the first quarter of 2006, MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann beat CNN's Paula Zahn Now in the 25-54 demographic. "This marks MSNBC's first quarterly primetime victory over CNN in the demo in almost five years (2Q01 MSNBC Investigates beat CNN at 8 p.m. ET)," MSNBC's press release said today.

Countdown averaged 164,000 total viewers in the quarter, up 41% from Q1 2005. Zahn averaged 158,000 demo viewers (down 33 percent), according to MSNBC. Bill O'Reilly averaged 450,000 in the demo (down 24 percent).

Olbermann also beat Headline News star Nancy Grace in the demo. According to program ranker data, Grace averaged 154,000 demo viewers.

Keith Olbermann (IMO) gets better as time goes by. He's a brilliant writer, and comes with great respect to the journalists that paved the way (and visible disdain for the present 24-hour cable news culture). I've followed him since his days at WCVB Boston. "Countdown" is where I get my evening news from.

I love Keith. I do hope, however, that he sent Bill O'Reilly a fruit basket or something, just to be funny.

Heh. Knowing Bill, he probably had it closely examined and inspected by the "FOX Police" for safety issues before accepting it. :) *ROFLMAO!* *LOL!*

As for Paula & Nancy, he probably each of them a boquet (sp?) of flowers with an apology card (Not that they'll forgive him, mind you, BUT he can always try to beg) :)

Just my opinion :)

Cheers :)
