MSNBC HOST: THEY TOLD ME TO TONE IT DOWN, INVITE MORE GOP GUESTS

Maybe they can start offering...oh...more news than they've had shown thus far. I don't mind people like Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell but those ugly prison shows have to go. NBC News tout themselves as the go-to place for news but on MSNBC there is no news after 11 PM. Then again, with them now run by Cheapcast, very little chance of a ramp-up of news coverage.

I hate to be a wet blanket but he does work for MSNBC and not himself. He's acting as if his employer shouldn't be able to tell him what to do. I don't disagree but this goes on in every single job I've ever had. Management will tell you to do something stupid, only promote people in their "circle" and etc.

He's acting like this is some sort of surprise. I had this figured out by the time I was 25, if not younger. Again, I'm not saying he is wrong, but it's really a "so what?" type of thing.

I have been noticing a bit more moderate presentation with more GOP guests on the news segments. Of course, O'Donnell and Maddow still have their left lean. If MSNBC can present a balanced approach the rest of the day, I really don't mind O'Donnell and Maddow, and actually tune in frequently to see what they are saying, despite my general differences with them. Isn't that what MSNBC wants?

Actually Mark, if you watched the videos, you would've noticed that he NO LONGER works for MSNBC. As such, he can do & say whatever he wants
He's acting as if his employer shouldn't be able to tell him what to do.
No he's not. He said in the videos that MSNBC management wanted him to "A" (Tone it down) & he chose to do "B" instead because toning it down just didn't fit his style (Which it doesn't if you've ever seen him with Pat Robertson on)
He's acting like this is some sort of surprise.
That's because IT WAS a surprise Mark

And that is because he did EVERYTHING he was asked of him & the ratings prove it (Especially when he added his own flare to the show) yet MSNBC wanted him to become someone he's not (And Cenk knew the audience would see right through that)

Personally, I think Cenk is better off on TYT. I've subscribed to the audio podcast (I'll replace that with the video podcast someday) since watching TYT live would conflict with Lawrence & Rachel (In fact, it's because of Lawrence that I don't watch Keith live - I catch the 11:00 PM ET replay of that)

Best of luck Cenk in all your endeavors :D

Cheers :)

Although it's been said many times, many ways, I don't think having Republicans or Libertarians on Lawrence's show or Maddow's show is much of a plus, unless that person is a newsmaker. And I repeat the comment with regard to Keith in his former home or Current TV. Right-wingers are more likely to add nothing to the conversation except hard-wired talking points. And when they meet up with the likes of Keith, Lawrence and Rachel, they begin to foam at the mouth. The best example was the right-winger who opposed Representative DiFazio in Oregon. He underwent a total meltdown, somewhat like Zell Miller on "Hardball". Another right-winger went on a rampage against the Muslims who wanted to build a community center in NYC. Without rehashing the whole controversy, her mantra was that it was Islamic triumphalism. When it was pointed out that early Christians did the same thing in Rome after Constantine, I thought her head would explode. O'Reilly and Hannity may occasionally have Democrats and liberals on, but it's just to berate and ridicule them
