MSNBC Kick I-man Off , Time 4 96.9 do the same thing .

Even if TKK doesn't feel that what he did warrants "firing" him they should at least use it as an excuse to get him off the air. He is soooooo boring among other things. I say move Egan and Braude into the morning drive slot, move Jimmy Myers into the weekday schedule and do a little adjusting of the rest of the schedule.

the ho-ho man will stay at 96.9 even if he has to do a jay-severin from his ct. mansion or new mexico ranch. they worship him over there. besides, imus is good at what he does. the pc police should instead focus on rap stations like jamn 94-5 which degrades people to h's, b's and n's with all the fine songs they play.

jimmy myers is a nuclear accident waiting to happen. the guy is a radioactive hazzard.

They are standing by their man but if the I-man does one more thing like this, he's gone, according to
a Greater Media spokesperson --see http://www.bostonradiowatch.com

>>Meanwhile, on the local front, the Braintree-based Greater Media has Imus' syndication rights thru 2008. Company's CEO Peter Smyth whose station WTKK 96.9FM has been Imus' Boston affiliate for the past seven and a half years continued to stand by its morning man. Smyth told USA Today : "I'm not going to drop him...What he said is indefensible. But he apologized. If it happens again, then it's plain and simple. It's over."

Howie has a bunch of dirt on Barnicle, who will be filling in for Imus' radio show...the Dershowitz
incident, the gas station owner incident, "Barnicle apologizes for racial slur" (Globe, 2004).
Will Barnicle actually take phone calls from listeners?

Does anyone know the collective size of Imus' audience? I've heard it said that it really is NOT that big...but is made to 'seem big' by others in media circles. For certain, if Imus just disappeared the sun would come out tomorrow and all would still be swell.

Published reports show around 2 million. What's important is who they are, not how many. Imus is a qualitative ad buy, as can be divined by seeing who the advertisers are (NYSE, Amex.) As the head of Lumber Liquidators said, he used the show to reach upper-middle-class and well-to-do folks who liked the idea of improving their expensive homes.

I guess you could say that Imus' audience was the exact opposite of, say, George Noory's.

Regards,
TSB

Well, Imus is gone and it appears I was right about a WTKK schedule shuffle and them moving in Jimmy Myers. Maybe I should charge them a consulting fee.
