MSNBC Lineup Changes

Effective next week, the two shows on MSNBC's primetime lineup that bookend "Rachel Maddow" will be switching time slots. Lawrence O'Donnell's "The Last Word," which moved to 8 PM upon the ouster of Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" (now on Current), goes back to its original 10 PM time slot. Ed Schultz's "The Ed Show," which started as a 6 PM show and later moved to its current 10 PM time slot, will now lead MSNBC's primetime schedule at 8 PM.

MSNBC continues to mix up their programming up with no rhyme or reason.

I was actually just starting to like O'Donnell at 6pm MTN, (4pm Eastern). And whoosh, it is gone. Talk about taking a show that was just starting to gain my attention, and it is now on two hours later, outside my viewing window.

I understand that Shultz is also a strong personality, but please. You build up an audience with O'Donnell and then feel the need to mix it up. Why? To decrease ratings? Which is what I predict will be the result. O'Donnell was controversial, and perhaps Shultz is too, but it really seems to be an even trade, and again, why?

Ed Schultz now goes head-to-head with Keith Olbermann on Current.

That's more head explosions in the 8 o'clock hour than my clicker can keep up with! :D

Correction on my earlier post: 6pm mtn is of course 8pm eastern, not 4pm.
