MSNBC Prez Calls Shuster's CNN Pilot "Unprofessional"

Mind you, he didn't issue a public statement, nor did he even appear on his own network, but MSNBC President Phil Griffin didn't mince words on the suspension of anchor David Shuster, after it was discovered he recorded a pilot series for rival cable news network CNN, by telling a viewer - a fan - via email the reason Shuster was being punished:

"Sorry, but this is a business and I need team players. He was not moral, ethical or professional and that is not fair to the 500 people who work at msnbc."

The message was in response to a viewer who sent an email to MSNBC and proclaimed that he (or she) would boycott the network, adding the opinion that they are "slowly but surely going the way of Fox News." (The word "News" was in quotes in the original email.)

Full story, with both emails:

Before anyone else jumps on the obvious gag, I might as well get it out of the way:

Nor is it to the 500 or so people who watch the network, too, I'll bet. ;D

...of course, mediaite.com is run by Dan Abrams, whose show was was canned from MSNBC in order to bring in (the much bigger audience-getter) Rachel Maddow...

Ah, yes, who can forget "Verdict with Dan Abrams."

(Actually, if one thinks it used to be a show on Court TV, you most certainly can forget it...)
