MSNBC Suspends Ed Schultz One Week Over "Slut" Remark

Specifically, he called Laura Ingraham a "right-wing slut". On his radio show, not his TV show - in which he has a segment called "Psycho Talk."

You'd think Schultz would learn from Imus about making such comments on the air. (Let's not forget that the third word of that infamous Imus phrase is a variation of the word Schultz used to describe Ingraham.)

I heard where the hostesses on "The View" were justifying Schultz' commentary because Joy Behar has called all those women "slut" at one time or other, and she didn't get suspended.

And then some (forgot the name) radio host justified it by saying "there are different interpretations of 'slut.'"
And that sounded kind of crazy. But yeah, since nobody complained when Behar did it, but did when Schultz did it, I guess there are different interpretations, actually. If Joy Behar says it to Barbara Walters, you can be sure it's a joke, kinda like a term of endearment calling her "girlfren." Unless Barbara Walters is actually promiscuous.
From seeing Ed Schultz say it, and hearing his apology, he didn't seem to be saying that he meant it as a term of endearment.
Same word, but different meanings, kind of like all the old George Carlin "you can prick your finger..." jokes.
