MSNBC to begin showing movies

Yeah, consider Keith Olbermann is the only talked about guy on the network (love or hate him), one would think they would re-build the network around him. We are living in a time when more young people are getting their news from Comedy Central than the nightly news.

Folks we are talking about a so-called news operation whose lead morning program is is a cowboy wannabe radio disc jockey who is approaching 70 years old. So why would it surprise anyone that MSNBC would be running movies now?
If you want pure news coverage watch C-Span.

What if I want pure news coverage of something not related to politics with something called "context"?

If you want to hear how terrifyingly stupid Americans can be, listen to the C-Span shows and the people who call in. This morning they were quoting the Drudge report and what the democrats ate after taking over congress. Now that's worth my cable money. The only decent programs are book TV and House of Commons. Some of the thinktanks are listenable as well but congress in session is just stupid. We should get cameras out and go back to artists renditions. Much better IMHO.

I miss NewsWorld International.

Then you sure don't want to watch CNN, MSNBC and especially FOX. When CNN first started out back in the 1980s they were a 24-hour news operation. The same goes for CNN Headline News. Then some programming genius came up with the idea of replacing news with so-called personalities. Now, especially during the evenings, we have to endure Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper, Paula Zahn.

Copy-cat MSNBC followed suit by employing Don Imus, Chris Matthews. At FOX they have Greta and Bill, just to name a few.

Besides the war in Iraq, most of TV news is covering politics anyways. Hell it’s a year away from the presidential race and already the network gurus are predicting who the candidates will be.

Now if you want real news coverage try “The National” from the CBC. Unfortunately my cable company (Time Warner) won't carry "The National" or the CBC. They are more interested in carrying the same movies on a regular basis, along with infomercials.
