MSU Keeps Getting Bumped

With one exception so far, Michigan State football games this year have been relegated to Big 10 Network. In recent years, they have mostly showed up on ABC or ESPN 1 or 2. Granted Spartans aren't playing so well this season but this sidelining of MSU games to a cable network on fewer cable systems and mostly on higher-priced tiers has been going on since the start of the season. Who decides these things, and how far in advance?

I have seen at least one MSU game on OTA TV this season. Seems like it was 2-3 weeks ago.

The games must be scheduled some distance in advance or we wouldn't get such gems as PSU vs Rutgers (you ACC fans could substitute BC vs any FL team and PAC-12 fans could substitute either ASU or UofA vs anyone). The early season games are the very worst and remind me of the Bum of the Month Club from a couple of well known heavyweight boxers. A 64-0 result from Alabama vs Alligator A&I is a ridiculous match up. And, IMHO, the service academies should get more national air especially since Navy (ahem) is doing so well lately. They are no longer the walkovers they once were.

per the contract each team must be on BTN at least twice and once must be a conference matchup

now then each of the networks that carry BIG football picks a game. It rotates between ABC/ESPN, FOX and BTN. So if ABC/ESPN picks other games then BTN takes the leftovers. By the way most of these selections are done less than 2 weeks in advance...Sometimes its not chosen until the Sunday of the games.

Hey in Minnesota its the same thing. Most games on BTN.
