Hi there folks, and greetings from north of the border in Ontario Canada. I know it's been a while since I've checked in here. I am very pleased to see that WMWV in Conway seems to have gotten its act together in regard to its audio stream, and is just running their local spots instead of substituting national PSAs and then joining the Briggs Bunker and the Mount Washington Observatorys phone calls already in progress during the Morning Weather Show. By the way, I really enjoyed Roy's June 14th broadcast from the summit of Mount Washington, that was fun to listen to. I'm also so pleased to see WMTK, the NOtch at 106.3 in Littleton streaming on the net. I especially enjoy the local newscasts plus their music.
I do have a favor to ask if anyone in the Mount Washington valley area checks out this board. While listening to WMWV the other day, I learned that Mount Washington Valley Visitor Information Radio is not only carried on the old WBNC AM at 1050, but on an FM frequency of 95.3 as well. I'm wondering if someone could record an mp3 file of that station for me. I would love to hear a full cycle of that station both during summer, and winter as well. Actually a cycle during peak fall foliage season would be interesting as well. If there is someone with the technical know how to do this, I would appreciate that tremendously. I used to have grandparents who lived in the area, and I have very fond memories of the Conway Bartlett area, and although I've found a brief aircheck of the old WBNC available on the net, the aircheck is highly edited and they faded out each segment and then faded it in again at the end. I would like to hear a complete cycle of this MOunt Washington Valley Visitor Information Radio in real time.
Also, is there anyone up in Berlin who can record some of the two Berlin stations, preferably from their FM translators on 99.3 and 106.1 respectively? I understand that WKDR is airing an all news format, so hearing one of their half hour or hour morning blocks would really be interesting to hear, as well as some morning programming from WMOU 1230 or 106.1 FM. What I would almost give a part of my male anatamy for, is a 1960's aircheck of Berlin's top 40 station at the time, WBRL at 1400. I've only been trying to get an aircheck of this station since 1967. Well, if anyone can help by supplying any of these recordings for me, you can E-mail me at Sam but with a small letter s, and then the name of my website which is audioldies dot net. If you like oldies and radio, you might want to look around. Thanks in advance.
