MTV 25 years later

I just flipped over to MTV to see if they were doing anything special for their 25 anniversary. It was two young women kissing. Video killed the radio star and replaced them with lesbians. Happy Birthday MTV.....I think?

More like "reality killed the video star". Shame on MTV for pretending link nothing happened on their 25th birthday.

While VHi Classic celebrated MTV's first day on-air, MTV could've done something like celebrate the last 25 years. But no -- they treated this day like it's "our 25th what?"

So bush league -- and, unfortunately, typical -- of Viacom.

I was just watching the first hour and I must say thank goodness for DVR fast forward
Heck, I was hoping it would be shown in its original broadcast form but no we can't have that....

They have to throw in these goofy little interviews with near nobodies now and their own overlay graphics. I can forgive the modern commericials but thats all I can forgive. I bet that they will not even bother interviewing the original VJs like Martha and Adam Quinn and Kurt Loeder.

Did you know that it was Kurt voice that was the first to say "Ladies and Gentleman, Rock and Roll" when MTV first came on the air.

Maybe, someone needs to re-write the old Buggles song to "Viacom killed the video star".
