I did see this hour long program on MTV today around 11:00AM. They basically showed a 2 minutes worth of a song from all 25 years.

MTV sucks and the special on VH-1c wasnt like i xpected it to be...

I thought that they were gonna air EVERY ASPECT of Aug 1st 1983 (Showing Martha Quinn,etc.....) They didnt do that very much....

Ah well........

The turned their back on the 25th anniversary yesterday. What makes you think they'll do it then? I say they don't. Anyway, for what it's worth, a report on WCBS-AM 880 yesterday mentioned that MTV carried 62 videos on their first day and 5 of them were from Rod Stewart. Were any clips repeated that first day?

Yup. Buggles "Video Killed The Radio Star" showed up a couple of times, as did Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight", The Pretenders' "Message Of Love", The Who's "You Better You Bet"...and I bet REO Speedwagon got duplicated, seeing as they had a 'hot' "Video LP" in the stores (remember laserdisc?)

i don't get why mtv is still called mtv, what they should do is make a channel named mtv reality or ttv (teen tv) and make mtv and mtv2 all music again

That's why MTV has their digital cable and satellite channels like MTV Hits, MTV2 (although even there's some nonmusic programming on there), and VH1 Classic. Not to mention other channels like Fuse, The Eye Music Network, and The Tube

Personally--I DON'T GIVE A FLYING ****.

I don't either but I wish my cable company would carry MTV Hits, VH1 Classic, MTV2 (they play some music videos so who knows how long that would last), The Tube, The Eye Music Network, and Fuse. At least they play music videos.

Wikipedia mentions these other channels I've mentioned and also Birds-Eye.Net That's where I saw them from.

The only true 24-hour music channel I have access to anymore is The Tube, which is available on WTXX-DT (WB) Waterbury/Hartford channel 12-2, a.k.a. "20-2".

Why don't they just make themselves to cable and satellite in addition to the DT2 channels if they keep insisting on that, although I just read on Wikipedia that The Tube is available on select cable systems
