Now here's what I would do, if I ran MTV networks. I'd move "the-n" from noggin to MTV 2. Make it a 24hr network. Thus ending MTV2. Then I would move almost all the crappy MTV shows there. I would then make MTV music driven again.CrankyYankee said:I have to agree with "TopsOfThePops", the name no longer fits what they do.
The Nashville Network changed its name when it changed direction, but then again, MTV is a deeply burned-in brand.
MTV jams I would leave alone, but MTV hits I would rebrand as MTV classic. Focusing on the first 20 years of MTV only. This would inlcluding airings of old MTV shows, but at respectable times. VH1 classic would refocus on earlier music (50's thru 70's). MTV3, would be rebranded as MTV rock, leaving VH1 UNO as the main spanish music network.
Going further, VH1 would be renamed. Mayby something like POP tv, since thats what it basically is. At the same time I would rebrand VH1 soul as VH1 Music, which would be what VH1 use to be, a soft ac network (with maybe pop up videos and such)
Nick@nite I would move to noggin's overnight spot, replacing the N. Thus making Nickelodeon 24hr network, while nick @ night has a longer schedule. Nick Gas meantime would be rebranded as a nick's classics network.
I think thats everything?
So to review.
MTV would be music Driven again
MTV2 would become the-N, and home of all current MTV crap
MTV 3 would become MTV rock
MTV Jams would remain
MTV hits would become a MTV classic channel
VH1 Soul would become VH1 music
VH1 would get a new name.
Nickelodeon would go overnights
noggin would be the new home of nick@nite
and nick gas would become a nick classic channel.
