Guess no one else noticed this. I checked those two channels Saturday afternoon to see what they were up to, and heard loops saying they would no longer be available. I guess MTV channel 155 is being replaced this Monday with the new Take 5 channel. I had also notced that Discovery Channel Radio had disappeared in recent weeks and figured Take 5 was replacing it. This is a little sad, because even with minimal commercial interruptions, MTV and VH1 were still good alternatives to XM's other hit music channels (KISS, MIX, and 20 on 20) which have no jocks at present. Any possibility they would take some of the jocks from MTV and VH1 and move them to Kiss and Mix, and maybe 20 on 20? If so, it wouldn't be a bad trade off, and would actually make those channels better.

MTV and VH1 Radio Being Deleted

The DJs at MTV and VH1 are not employed by XM. They're 3rd party channels, which is one of the reasons they were deleted. I believe both will still be available online (not XMRO) and possibly other small outlets.
Also, 20 on 20 has a jock.

I never really liked MTV and VH1 Radio. 155 is still being displayed as "MTV Radio" although Take 5 is what is coming out of it. Take 5 has that XM compression sound to it so I guess if good for anything, its saving bandwidth.
KISS XM is and has always been my favorite channel on XM overall.<P ID="signature">______________

Discovery Channel Radio
Can't say I'm too disappointed about losing Discovery Channel Radio. It wasn't programmed to it's potential. It didn't run 24 hours a day and for the most part it was just small parts of shows and such. If they did more long form documentaries and such, it would have been far better. Plus, I am in the Central Time Zone so most of the time I was in the car it kept looping that it will return at such and such time.

I was thinking one of the reasons for it was because the way Sirius has a rather close partnership with Viacom/Infinity (which owns MTV & VH1) that MTV Radio & VH1 Radio had become exclusive to Sirius. But I was looking at Sirius' channel lineup and they don't have either MTV or VH1. So, so much for that theory.
