when it comes to white bands and music, fooled ya, everything deemed racist is not always the way people think, mtv networks has mtv/vh1/mtvh/mtv2/mtv3/vh1s/mtvj which are over 90 percent black oriented, vh1c the only thing for the white peeps is about 30 percent black oriented, now vh1c is going overboard next month to promote yet another black history month block of stuff. How can all these outlets cater to a race of 18 percent of the population in the usa. Something is rotton in demark so we all can say....can someone say just have one outlet on cable that plays rock, classic hard rock, metal, alternative, grunge and only white bands, fuse is the only other option but not full circle....can anyone dispute this and be fair.....

Does anyone remember when MTV actually just played videos? Whatever happened to that MTV??

Yeah I'd like to know too.I guess It's cheap money, reality shows are cheap to make,
no big name talent to pay the big bucks.also I geuss the no brains fans don't mind watching these shows.over and over again.Come on I want my MTV,VH1,CMT back again.Rock,Rap,Country. Any videos please,Lets grow out of this reality crap phase.

There was a cycle that went on for years where MTV and VH1 would gradually add more non-music programming until someone realized that they're really a music network and throw all of it out. (The last batch was when VH1 went "Music First".) They're definitely overdue.

*poke*

The sad thing was when "The Tube" went belly-up. Finally, a TV network that played music videos (primarily rock-oriented and classic videos).

There is a free over the air music video channel call "Retrojams" which is on Equity Broadcasting stations around the country. It plays mostly old video from the 80's and 90's, plus some old concert footage and music clips from various variaty shows. Not that much rap except for some old school like Rump Shaker, or Baby Got Back etc. Similar to "The Tube" but with no new stuff. There are no reality shows, except for some informercials late at night. Its free where I live on a low power station. Its also available on some of the HDTV subchannels. They should put it on channel 6 in New York so you could either watch it, or listen to it on 87.7 FM.
