Mulitple Dallas Stations Playing back To Back MJ Songs

k 104 is playing MJ music back to back. 106.1 is playing back to back MJ
103.7 is playing some MJ songs. 98.7 is playing MJ songs.
97.5 is playing some MJ songs. 94.5 is playing some MJ songs

The reason why...
He has Died of a heart attack.
The fan is talking about MJ as well...

Don't forget KRNB. Them and 94.5 is still playing his music. KRNB said they are going to do something special on "The Quietstorm" tonight.

R.I.P. King of Pop. You did something that not many can do. You made "Thriller" and brought the whole world together to dance to the same music. It wasn't urban music. It wasn't country music. It wasn't rock music. It was good music. We are going to miss you.

I remember being at a club back when Thriller had just come out and they lowered the big video screen and everyone on the packed dance floor just sat down and watched it. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson... I guess he was the Elvis of my generation. RIP Michael. :'( This has been a crazy week... first Ed McMahon passed who I used to watch on the Tonight Show, Farrah who we lost this morning and now the king of pop. K-Soul played Man in the Mirror on the drive home tonight and was really powerful. Peace.

Sucks about Ed McMahon and Farrah Fawcett, but in my opinion Michael Jackson was a pedophile. Did he make good music? Sure. But that does not take away from the fact that he was a creep. I know people are going to say he was never found guilty of anything. However, he chose to settle out of court and in my opinion you might as well just admit you're guilty when you do that. I'm disgusted by all of the tributes I have already seen on the news and entertainment shows. I just feel bad for Farrah Fawcett, because I feel like her death is now being overshadowed.

And don't forget Jerry Lee Lewis and his 13-yr old bride/cousin, Myra...

Glad to see such local radio participation. My first thought was, it'd take two days or so for music radio to even catch up with today's news, given the wonderful art of voicetracking. As for getting the word out, WBAP, KRLD, CNN-1190 and Dick Hunter on KMNY were all covering the Jacko news, although WBAP went back to regular programming soon thereafter. KRLD and CNN were already in their usual afternoon newscasts.

Sounds like there were more local stations today playing MJ back-to-back than there were when Elvis died. I remember KNUS going wall-to-wall Elvis; KDNT did as well, and I'm sure KWXI, KLIF and K-V-I-Lvis did, although I don't recall. Then again, there are more stations today than in 1977!

Is XM/Sirius doing anything musically on MJ yet?

It wasn't a heart attack, it was cardiac arrest.

Can't argue with you on the "pedophile" comment, but I don't think Farrah was slighted. Last month, she was the subject of at least one prime-time special on TV. At least that was during her lifetime, so the potential is there that she might have seen it. Although I might agree that, in death, she is being overshadowed.

It wasn't a heart attack, it was cardiac arrest.

Same thing... You could also call it "crashed", like they do on House.

Actually, not true - and the difference could save your life.

A heart attack is caused by an arterial blockage. Everyone knows the symptoms.

Cardiac arrest is the sudden cessation of normal circulation caused by a failure of the heart's lower chambers. A heart attack can cause cadiac arrest, but cardiac arrest can't cause a heart attack -and it's first symptom is usually death.

Jody, with all due respect... In the medical profession an arrest and attack are considered to be one in the same, by licensed physicians. I know this because I am family related to two physicians, and aquanted with three more. All of them say from a diagnostics standpoint, the above two conditions are the same.

Cardiac Arrest

Definition
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cardiac arrest is an abrupt halt in the pumping action of the heart. When the heart stops pumping, blood flow and spontaneous breathing (respiration) also stop, resulting in cardiopulmonary arrest and a complete lack of oxygen delivery to vital organs. Individuals lose consciousness immediately.

Cardiac arrest is a medical emergency. Restoration of circulation to vital organs through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is necessary to prevent permanent brain, heart, liver, lung, and kidney damage. Cardiac arrest results in death within minutes if not immediately corrected.

Cardiac arrest is different from a heart attack (myocardial infarction, MI). In an MI, blood flow to a portion of the heart is blocked, depriving that portion of the heart muscle of oxygen. In contrast, sudden cardiac arrest occurs when the heart’s electrical system malfunctions.
