multi-Digital cable channels

What is the point of having channels like Viacom's CMT Pure, Vh1-soul,ect...and Channels like Cloo,Oxygen,Chiller,from comcast? Other then fees to carry them, Do they make much profit? My guess would no. Many times they air shows that have little or nothing to do with the format. Cloo years ago would air classic NBC shows they owned, Why they stopped doing that is anyone's guess. As someone who loves TV and radio and has an interest in the industry, I will never understand why the higher ups do what they do.
 
I unfortunately don't get Chiller on my cable system. If I picked between SyFy and Chiller I'd take the latter. Why Syfy is doing darn WWE on Friday nights is anyone's guess - I miss the 1990's Sci-Fi Channel!

SyFy is owned by NBCUniversal which also owns USA, Universal and Mun2 (plus more)......ironically WWE wrestling is on all of those
hmmmm......

They didnt want to put WWE on USA for all shows
