Munch on Fox Sports Saturday

Dear God, that was brutal yet hilarious at the same time. Munch has gotten so used to Goldhammer filling the dead air that he was flailing about without him, and he seemingly had no set topic for the night (here's a hint Munch: NFL TRAINING CAMPS AND MLB TRADE DEADLINE!!!!!!!) so he instead took calls on "great games in NLF history."

The only good thing about the show was that Munch couldn't use his local producers, like he does when he guest hosts Rome, and the Fox producers wouldn't let him use that stupid sound effect where a basketball buzzer goes off and then a crowd goes "awww." Why Munch refuses to use the "Price is Right Failure Tuba" sound effect like every other sports show is beyond me.

I think you are confusing Munch and Rizzo, two different WKNR personalities. I heard Munch on Sat night and while Im not exactly a fan of his, I can appreciate his "Cleveland point of view" on a national stage. I dont think he is that great in general, but I didnt think he was any worse than usual on Sat night. The show held my attention for the duration.

Munch actually has been doing the Saturday night fill-in slot on FSR for the past few weeks. It's only just that: a Saturday night slot. Ironically, neither KNR or KNR2 can/will carry it, but WARF/1350 and WEOL/930 have carried it.

FSR has been trying out different regional hosts on weekends, which actually isn't bad considering how LA-centric (awful) their regular weekday lineup is.

If 92.3/98.5 The Fan carries FSR as rumored, wouldn't be a kick in the pants to hear Munch some Saturday night on the Galleria's competition?

Methinks if "The Fan" takes FSR, Munch goes buh-bye. GKB would likely pull him off especially if their FSR affiliation were to be terminated.

Sunday nights is a guy named Mike North who is so very Chicago centric. In fact, when I get annoyed by him, I remind myself that Munch is annoying most non-Cleveland fans when he is on Saturdays. *lol*

North is brutal as well. He is Chicago's version of Trivisanno. Or at least he was. He was on WSCR's airwaves for a long time, but his $750,000 per year contract ran out and he and WSCR could not find a common number. North then tried an internet station that went belly up after it the owner of the venture was arrested for running a ponzi scheme.

Just realized this: CBS actually runs Sporting News R...er...Yahoo Sports Radio... on "97.1 The Ticket" in Detroit.

FSR is, of course, tied up at CC sports talk competitor WDFN/1130 (as is "The Fan" nickname!). In fact, CC basically retreated to all-FSR when "The Ticket" moved to FM and kicked them in the behind.

If the Cleveland CBS sports talk station takes FSR, Munch will be forced to end his fill-ins at FSR, period.
