I have no experience in Television or Radio, but in my opinion I believe Fox has done a terrible job with MUNDOFOX here in Houston. I have not been able to watch a single program onannel 34. I have DirecTV and no MUNDOFOX. My little sister has a DIGITAL CONVERTER BOX and MUNDOFOX isn't on either, we ve by 59 north and the beltway 8. I went online and googled to see if there are anyplans to show MUNDOFOX on DirecTV and no mention at all. I did notice that AT&T UVERSE is transmitting CHANNEL 34, its a shame that mundofox cant be watch on a full network channel in a huge city like HOUSTON l think FOX can do and should do better if they really want to compete against Univision and Telemundo.

You are on the opposite side of the market from the Missouri City antenna farm, so reception of LPTV's from there will be difficult unless you are using some sort of directional antenna, such as a yagi on the roof or in the attic.
I'm sure MundoFox is far from satisfied with its current arrangement in Houston, but there are no other options at this time. Houston already has six full-power Spanish language stations, five of them O&O's, so Fox didn't have much choice unless they wanted to flip KTXH.

How good is MY NETWORK PROGRAMING I don't remember ever watching any shows on that network. Last time I watched something on that channel was when they had WWE SMACKDOWN haha. But seriously would it be wise for them to have MUNDOFOX on channel 20? I'm pretty sure it would knock out ESTRELLA TV but I don't know how strong they could be to compete against UNIVISION at the moment.
Fox very easily could have put Mundo Fox on 20.2 or 26.2 -- I don't know why Fox is so against subchannels. That would put the signal over much more of the market than low power Channel 34. Or how about ch. 34 and 20.2 or 26.2? At least park it on a subchannel until a full power signal is available.
When does Comcast's retransmission agreement come up with Fox? Will they make carrying Mundo Fox a condition? Actually I am surpised that Comcast doesn't add the channel, since they carry some of the other subchannels, and that is a good way for Comcast to distinguish itself from Directv and Dish that are more limited in the subchannels.

I suppose Fox could've put MundoFox on the HD feed, bumped MyTV down to SD, and reversed the subchannel numbers, so MyTV (now SD) would remain .1 and MundoFox HD would be .2. There's often a solution if you're creative enough.

Simply put, Fox will not hurt My Network TV (which it owns 100%) to boost an unproven Spanish language network. (That Fox owns 50%). Fox wants full-power affiliates for MundoFox, but has had to settle for low power stations in several places. I think they hope to establish some kind of following first then convince more full power stations to switch.
A lot of people don't remember that Univision spread nationwide on LPTVs and as a basic cable channel before it had the money to buy full power stations in many markets. I'm guessing Fox is waiting for contract renewal time with cable and satellite to bundle MundoFox in with Fox TV, Fox News, Fox Sports, FX, etc.

But I'd consider a rooftop antenna anyway. There are other stations besides MundoFox, and the quality of Over-The-Air broadcasts beats satellite. There's even an OTA tuner (model AM21, IIRC) you can add to some DirecTV boxes, which integrates OTA channels into your satellite system quite nicely.
In Houston, Univision was first on low power 45 and then upgraded channel 45 to full power, and now channel 45 tops the ratings at times in certain demos, among all stations, including the English language stations, so the route to starting small with low power and growing did work for Univision. But there wasn't the Spanish language programming competition that is present in today's TV environment back then.
Admittedly I am not in the target audience, but I have seen a few billboards for MundoFox around town. It's just not very good advertising. The logo is too small and the promotional message is not clear enough.
