Muppet Guest Appearances

This topic just crossed my mind as of late: there have been numerous appearances by many of the Muppet characters over the years on late-night television (Carson, Leno and recently Jimmy Kimmel), but yet none of them have even appeared at least to my knowledge on David Letterman. Is it because Dave himself doesn't like them or that the folks at the Henson Company have some sort of beef against Letterman?

Actually the Muppets were on with Dave, in a way. It was his old Late Night Show on NBC. His guest was Jack Paar. A great guest, btw. Jack took Dave out in the hall of NBC. Seems Jack had Jim Henson & the Muppets on his Friday night show in the early 60's. Hensen and his pals took it upon themselves to decorate a hall utility closet (pipes, valves, etc) with eyes, noses, mouths etc. It was pretty funny. It had been there all those years. No one messed with it.
