Murphy and Meg out at WRIT

It's always a shame when a DJ or a morning show is fired. Especially when the station is #1, as WRIT is.

But every radio station is under the pressure to not age out of its audience target. According to the article on the On Milwaukee website, they've been on WRIT since 2008, eleven years. We don't know that iHeart is doing something that another owner wouldn't do.

In Milwaukee, with two full power FM stations going All-Sports and getting terrible ratings, and I mean really awful ratings, you can be sure at least one of them will be doing another format soon. One of them is owned by iHeart so they're not going to hire these two. But if WKTI goes back to music, maybe it can build a new station around them.

I wouldn't expect WKTI to go back to music. Sports Radio is cheap to run and brings in good money. KTI's last format (Country) couldn't compete with WMIL FM 106.1. I liked Murphy and Meg but 95.7 Big FM has been tweaking the playlist lately and adding more 90's songs so I think they're going for a younger demographic.
