Re: One Rochester Radio Person Won 4 Murrow Awards

Regarding the Murrow Award, I have to give a plug to a former co-worker of mine. Bill Flynn, who use to work with me at WXXI and is now at WHAM, has personally won FOUR Murrow Awards.

I bring this up only because WXXI has been promoting the hell out of their recent awards, yet I clearly remember when Bill won the prestigious Murrow Awards you could hear a pin drop at 280 State Street as no press releases were sent out. I don't think Bill even got a congratulations from management.

So let me congratulate Bill publicly not only for winning four Murrow Awards, but also the numerous AP awards for his sports features over the years. Bill was even nominated to the local sports Hall of Fame, but unfortunately didn't win.
