"Mushie, mushie, mushie, Barn."

I just checked out the programing schedule of WGN America and saw that WGN will be running a mini marathon of Barney Miller on Tuesday (6/30) including "The Brownies" episode. Also, WKRP later in the week including the Turkey episode...."As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."
They will be running Taxi and Welcome Back Kotter, too (the latter has not aged well).

Gawd, Jack Soo was funny as hell on "Barney Miller," wasn't he? I thought it was a great tribute to the respect the cast and producers had for him that they did that retrospective show when he died, with the actors breaking character and talking about him. I'm not sure I can think of any other show that did anything like that for a deceased cast member, before or since.

I had a brief encounter with Jack Soo in of all places, San Bernardino, Ca. in 1974. He was in town, appearing in the local performing arts palace's presentation of "Flower Drum Song."

We chatted for only 2 minutes or so, but he came across as one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet.

I heard horror stories about other celebs who appeared at that same venue. One in particular, who was more known for being a bigger star's daughter, would go to a restaurant across the street and demand that the place be emptied while she dined there. I don't know if the restaurant did it for her or not.

I think Jack Soo would have welcomed the company. I could tell immediatly that the man had class.

In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny, "Ehhhh, could be." ;)

Tonight WGN carried Taxi, and my favorite moment from that show was on, the "What does a yellow light mean" bit from the episode that brought Revernd Jim in as a regular character. ;D

Well Arnaz did the exact same thing a few years back in Winchester, VA when she was in town because her daughter was the "Queen" of the local Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. I think it was at the 220 Seafood House which recently closed..thanks to a Red Lobster which was built nearby.

Someone earlier had mentioned they felt that Welcome Back Kotter hasn't aged very well. I agree with that. Mainly because of John Travolta. After watching movies like Pulp Fiction and the other films he made, it is quite hard to believe he once did a sitcom much less cheesy TV flicks. "Carrie" people can see him doing such a movie even today but "The Boy In The Plastic Bubble" ????
