music on tango traffic

Was just viewing them and the music is great, a blend of alternative, rock and 80's mtv stuff. The cars, verve, beastys, oasis, beach boys, van halen, aerosmith, fine young canables, some struggeling station should adapt their music playlist LOL...

That's pretty much all Tango is good for is the music!! Has anyone tuned into this yet? It is HORRIBLE!!! Great idea, but come on!! THEY HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suspect teething problems, but watching the automated announcement feed on Sunday was worse than watching paint dry. The commercial cut-ins were overly loud and not even formatted to fit in the appropriate viewing area. Heck, it even looked like the macro crashed at some point in the mid-day and the whole thing went to a Windows desktop.

This is not a professional source for traffic reporting by any means, and only having access to PennDOT cameras does not distinguish themselves from any others in the area. Overall, I find the live announcements only marginally better than the automation in the off-hours, but even still, I'm not impressed by far...

I did a search for tango traffic and this site came up. I personally love the channel. I watch tues, wed, thurs between 4 and 6 off an on before i have to pick up my kids. Hot hosts. I wish i could get it in my car. I noticed the commercial issues a few weeks ago but it's been better lately. everything is better than a few weeks ago. lastly...i LOVE the music selection. Sometimes i will put it on in the background in the evening or on the weekend when i am getting some work done at home while the cams are running. Only complaint has been the past week or 2 during the live on air i have heard some "macho" rock that i don't really care for. shine down and a few other bands that sound like them. i'd rather the stuff you mentioned....the stones, radiohead, pearl jam, vanhalen and the random 80's/90's stuff. it's like a perfect blend of 93, 104 and 97.5 and the cams are pretty cool to watch. stick with what works!

I just had to share this tidbit, at 7pm tonight, the first five songs were from Motley Crue, Modest Mouse, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Beach Boys and Joan Jett, therer is this rock instrumental on now with a heavy bass line, don't know the group or song another "oh wow" cut. Who is programming this channel, probably just someone who likes rock music, without a consultant or suit to tell them what to play...I can't turn this channel off, the music is fantastic. This is what YSP should sound like LOL....KLUV for oldies and Tango for Rock...can't loose.

update, the instrumental was from YES, then Skid Row, the Clash, Sex Pistols, Warrant, CSN&Y and Boston, go figure...:)

I have noticed a change in the music the past week or so. It's still good but gotten a little too out there once and a while. I will say I got a kick out of the hip hop friday thing last week. It's not something i would ever pop in my cd player but it took me back to High School and all that early 90's rap that was just goofy and fun. Still lovin me some tango and actually loving that Michael Jackson just came on after the Who.

If you want to listen to music tune into the 400's on comcast. As for traffic content. Come one. It is really bad!! If you are leaving for work are you going to watch this crap, or just turn on the radio like everyone else?

IMHO Music Choice stinks, in fact its the worst music source around. Comcast should get with it, Dish, Direct, Fios and other cable outfits, program their own music channels, plus they have Sirius and other music outlets but sticking with MC is a bad move...but I think Comcast owns MC and are too cheap to add any other music network.

Verizon FiOS also has Music Choice (only misic Choice). DirecTv used to have Sirius-XM. They now have Sonic Tap, programmed by DMX. Dish still has Sirius-XM. I actually prefer Music Choice over Sonic Tap. I prefer Sirius over them both. Had to plug one on my plug n play Sirius radios into my stereo when DitecTv took away Sirius-XM.

Verizon has MC but they also have a second music system, that programs many "oh wow", tunes like Sirius does on their decades channels, MC is so predictable its like listening to OGL. Dish and Direct, also have separate music outlets that play all brands of music, besides their main music systems. MC is geared to the urban listener, when they rebranded a few years ago, they put all their urban channels on the first tier and added more, and did away with a few rock and alternative. Their Oldies and Country Classic channels are very predictable, but I have to give them kudos on their Classic Rock Channel.

Nope. FiOS ONLY has Mucic Choice. I have FiOS now. I just changed from Xfinity. Same exact Music Choice lineup. If you don't have FiOS, check the lineup on Verizon's website. Urge music left FiOS sometime last year. I also still have DirecTv. They ONLY have the Sonic Tap channels programmed by DMX. They kind of have one for each Sirius-XM channel they dropped. Check out DirecTv's website. Maybe I haven't really given Sonic Tap a chance because I was really pissed when DirecTv dropped Sirius-XM. I personally still listen to Sirius in my house. I don't know about Dish but, my barber shop has Dish and it's always on 40s on 4 or Siriusly Sinatra, both Sirius-XM channels.

Didn't know Vios dropped Urge, which was a good system. I remember years back, Comcast had MC and DMX, then they just used DMX hispanic tier then they dropped it all together.

I've noticed the afternoon music has taken a nose dive. Too much macho crap I have never heard of. Where did the alternative and classic go?? Still some there but it's noticeably different. Guess it was bound to happen. Show itself is still rockin though and the hosts are still rockin too ;)

Did have them on a few hours last night and they were playing tons of Hard Rock, they did cut down on the Alternative but beefed up the Hard Classic Rock...THEN THEN THEN this morning when I checked them out I heard Marley...thats it... forget it... they are off my list....why playlists add this so and so, (I will be nice), to their rock mix, I never will understand.

I can deal with Marley but some of the hard rock I have been hearing is just putrid. I don't think it's Creed but a lot of it sounds like Creed and I hear alot of the same songs over and over. I feel like I need to be wearing a wifebeater just to listen to it. hahaha. It's definitely a turn off.
