Music on the Wall

I happened to catch a DX of a station somewhere playing a song I believe called "music on the wall" It was a song about going to one of these mega churches where they no longer play classic hymns on the piano or organ and now only use choruses with the lyrics flashed on the wall or screen using a projector instead of using the hymnal. I loved this song, it really made its point and was quite funny. Since I can relate to it because I've seen quite a few churches sing the same praise choruses every week which to me gets kinda old. They ususally have a "worship leader" instead of the minister of music and the choir is ususally just up there to sing backup for the "praise team" which get to hold the microphones. I know of one church that got rid of its beautiful grand piano and replaced it with a portable keyboard. Oops, I done started preaching, I'll shut up. But seriously, does anyone know that record or who sings it? It sounded like a Southern Gospel group but didn't catch the name because the station faded out.

Indeed you done. You could have backspaced and deleted before posting, you know. We get off on far too many non-radio tangents here as it is.

Ah...imagine that. Against contemporary churches reaching contemporary people and sounded like a southern gospel act. Hunh...how 'bout that?

Anyway, two minutes with Google would have told you it's "The Wall Song - The Ballad of Levi Slocum" by comedian Tim Lovelace (so who knows if he's serious?) and is available at www.lovelacecomedy.com/products.htm

I'd kinda like to have that two minutes of my life back now, please.

>I have never heard of that guy. I like music on the wall, at least it is easy to see and you don't have to stand balancing a book in your hand singing something in King James language. Thou shouldest tryest it.
