music scheduler and playout

Hey all, I'm on the look out for a fair priced music scheduler that could handle categories, as well as mood, tempo and genre styles. Can anyone advise me on the above ?!
I had my eye on stationplaylist.com and it seems pretty good for the price. However, it only seems to play on winamp. It is possible to output it into another playout system?

We use natural music (nat-soft.com). Certainly not selector (which we have on another station) but it's a buy-out rather than a lease. Compatible with most professional automation systems, ours is used with Simian.

Been a while since I looked at it, but as I remember it meets your criteria.

StationPlaylist Creator will output to various formats - it has a few in the config to select from (SPL Studio, Raduga, Winamp etc) but you can also form your own space/tab-delimited or fixed-field playlist by using %tokens like filename, artist, duration, type etc. It's main method of working is to point it to a folder of files and load them (ie: 1 folder per category) or select various files from a large folder of songs. Both methods have their drawbacks. It also has a "wizard" that lets you find songs based on tag values like Tempo, Genre etc but this will require you to set everything up beforehand.

I would say Natural Music as a simple buy-out solution - it offers a drag'n'drop library view so moving tracks around is simple. The extra rules and properties will assist you with those really picky rotations and of course it'll output to a variety of popular playout templates.

As you've been looking at Creator I'll assume that you don't have deep pockets so won't mention Powergold (it's a lease option, like Selector). But if you did have a healthy budget I would simply say "Powergold".

Google for "MusicGen Lite". Prophet had offered this music scheduler for free a few years ago and it has all the capabilities you need.

As for playout - check out ZaraRadio (also free).
