music scheduler issues

I'm working with a station that uses MusicMaster (DOS) and the most recent version of AudioVault.

The procedure for adding music to the system requires adding the song info to the actual cut in AV, then entering all of the data for each track in MusicMaster.

Is there a way to interface the two so that the info such as title, artist and time are shared between the two programs, or is there a scheduler that can be purchased that will do that?

The real question is why anyone is using the DOS version when the Windows one is just incredibly better.

It's a community station run by a college, so the budget hasn't allowed a scheduler upgrade. Just trying to save some staff time by not having to do double entry, if possible.

I used the DOS version from the late 80's through about 2005, and I know of know way to import a field specific text list... the Windows version can be achieved with copy and paste... do you have A-Ware support on the program? They would know. The other issue is getting a text list out of Audio Vault, too.

When you make the call to support, explain to them that the station is a college station and ask them to upgrade you to windows for free. Never hurts to ask. If the school is already paying the monthly fee, A-Ware might just give you a break.

Since the Windows version does not have a monthly fee unless you want support or upgrades, they may actuañly save. Worth asking about. The MM people are very nice, too.

If you get stuck on this, shoot me a note. I'm the sales manager for AudioVAULT for the southern US... no promises, but I might be able to make headway with this if you can't.

Posters are right - the A-Ware folks are cool.
