Does anyone have a music survey from a East coast station, or the Billboard Top 100 from October 22nd 1950 & 1955? I have a teacher who wants the top two songs from thoes dates for her parents wedding annavarsary(sp?), and I have everything else but that.

Thanks!<P ID="signature">______________

1950--you might want to track down "Your Hit Parade". Try a large urban research library or university library. Probably microfilm.

1955--you're gonna be looking at smaller stations, or MOR. The big ones, like WABC etc. weren't Top 40 yet. However, there may be some similar things.

I suggest heading to the public library in your downtown (New Jersey you're in? Trenton or Jersey City are good. If you can, NYPL will be the best bet. Librarians are nice people.)

Billboard's top two from 1950 were "The Tennessee Waltz" by Patti Page and "Goodnight Irene" by Gordon Jenkins & the Weavers. For 1955 it was "Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White" by Perez Prado and "Sincerely" by The McGuire Sisters

Can't get you the exact date, but the top 2 for October 1950 were "All My Love" by Patti Page and "Harbor Lights" by Sammy Kaye. For October 1955 it was "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" by The Four Aces and "Autumn Leaves" by Roger Williams.

There's a Billboard book about American Popular Music that's similar to the Top 40 book but I don't recall the name. They also have one for Country Music.
