OK, so Izzzzzzzzaguirrrrrrrrrrre shows up and the much hyped and ballyhooed "Daybreak" comes out swinging. Problem is, she can't keep a co-host. Now, Brad Hawkins split to fly the friendly skies at Love Field.

All that to hold a warm spot and light a candle for Jeff Brady - hopefully, not the replacement because he is great on the eves desk. Anyone catch his hair this morning? Brother woke up a bit late. ;D

Hopefully, they'll find someone that isn't trying to bolt from Belo. Like, say uh, Debbie Denmon. Anyone? Is this thing on?

You may have a future as a conservative radio talk show host. They tend to have liberties with the names of people they don't like. It's like a freebie before they take the real shot at their foil.

Of course right now they're kinda busy playing with Obama's name.
 
Fred, DJ does make a good point about the rotating anchor desk at WFAA, they're had issues keeping the AM host since scott sams left a few years ago and havent been able to keep a stable team since. Im going to take it as a sign that the rumors of working with morticia conomos may have validity, she very well might be a greek b***h (Scotts rumored comment, not mine)
 
"Mortica" is indeed the GREEK medusa. ask the folks at Trafficpulse -Dallas and her last minute ( and constant) "issues" causing the info to appear as if it has a deer in the headlights effect. Lurch come get her.

It is a strange coincidence that Lurch (Ted Cassidy) used to work at WFAA in the early 60's. Here we are off-topic again.........
 
Yup "lurch"Ted Cassidy did and he was the booth announcer as wel las playing the Piano at the Lakeview restaurant. "Morticia" though would lose out to Cousin IT in personality.
 
Ted "Lurch" Cassidy also hosted a talk show on WFAA-570. The restaurant was Luby's at Lochwood Mall (Jupiter and Garland Rd.) I think he filled in for Miss Inez or something on the organ. In case you missed last Sunday's "Hi-Fi Club," I told the story about how Ted was on duty one day in 1964, playing a monster on Don Norman's "Dialing for Dollars" movie's local cut-ins. Phone rang, Bud Buschardt answered (Bud was on the floor crew then as a camera operator.) It was Hollywood calling for Ted Cassidy. Bud took a message, Ted called back, got the nod for the role of "Lurch," then went back to the set to finish out his shift! They sent him home to pack when the word spread that Ted got the job and was going to be a star.

Sadly, Ted Cassidy died 30 years ago this week while undergoing heart surgery. He was just 46.

And congrats to Alexa, who's now "with child" for the second time!
 
Every time I see a guy on this board refer to Alexa Conomos as "Morticia" it just further validates my belief that the closest most of the men who post here ever get to a woman is when mom lets them come up from the basement to watch TV in the living room.

My wife and I are stuck at home today to the "Severe Ice Storm" that has a "Death Grip" on the DFW area, and she noticed that Alexa was sporting a little bit of a bulge in her belly and wondered if she was "with child" again. Guess that is true.

As for a new anchor, I read on UncleBarky's website, www.unclebarky.com that WFAA just hired a guy from Iowa who was the evening anchor on a station up there.
He comes from the same TV station that Ron Jackson over at Channel 4 came from in Iowa.

The nic-name goes back to her first year at 8, back when Scott Sams was on there. They had a bad day of technical flubs and the lighting was bad. The technical problems got talked about here and that day Alexa with her then long black hair, pale complexion, in the bad lighting she did look like "Mortica" and the name stuck. I don't think anybody has said that either "Mortica" was unattractive.
 
Unattractive ? No. Demanding and unprepared a majority of the time? A resounding yes. A case where eye candy is all there is/ Ever watch her solo the 12 noon news? Quite painful and you pray for a faster commercial break. She doesn't prep!!
