MusicMaster & Audiovault Interfacing

Do any of you use Musicmaster scheduling software in conjunction with Schedule Build on the Audiovault?? I need some help. In the documentation, it shows where you can export automation commands to the audiovault...when asking either of these two companies about it, they both tell me its the other companies problem. I have hit the end of my rope with them...so I throw the question to the people who know.

I even went as far as to ask the phone number to other stations with the same configuration, and was told "customer confidentiality"...which is bogus.

All I want this thing to do is be able to export time updates and system stop commands, in addition to the music and such that already export from it. It has to be in the def file, but can't figure this out.

HELP!!!!!!!

Gotta love automation companies. We use MediaTouch and had a similar problem. We finally got both Selector and the Senior Customer Service person on the phone... and with a little grumbling and mublings of "Should have bought prophet" revealed that there was a document that set forth everything we needed to have done!

You might try using a "Lognote" in your hourly clock.

I'm working with an LPFM station that got MusicMaster to do scheduling. They're using a very simple automation package called "Virtual DJ" to do the playback. VDJ uses a file format for the playlists that's simply an ASCII file containing the path and filenames of the files, so all I had to do was go in that executable and tell it to use the path field to export logs for automation.

I'm not familiar with how Audiovault handles those time updates and system stop commands. Is it a predefined text string? VDJ has an automated time announcer in it that looks for the text string ":Timecheck" in the playlist so what I did was to set a "lognote" with that string in it inside the hourly clock. I can't remember having to do anything extra to make it export that exact string. You might be able to use lognotes to issue those commands to Audiovault as well.

There's an executable file that comes with MusicMaster (at least in v. 2.0) that lets you set up the format for how it exports its log for automation. I can't remember what it's called but I'll look on the machine later.

Which all brings me back to my original question...is there anyone interfacing Musicmaster and Audiovault. If so, I'd like to talk to you. <P ID="signature">______________

I’m not familiar with AudioVault, but if it’s anything like a few systems I have seen, it wants you to use “Breaknotes” for special system commands. Those Breaknotes need to be on the log MusicMaster actually generates. You build those Breaknote commands in MusicMaster under format/special (I’m assuming you’re using the DOS version of MM).

The design of those Breaknotes that AudioVault probably uses should be documented within the AV user’s manual.

Jones Radio Network interfaces MM w/AV. Didja call Mark Bolke?
