"My 830" - Where is this station coming from?

Last night I was picking up a station that must have been testing - they call themselves "My 830" and they were playing Rock and Top 40 hits from 15+ years ago. Anyone have an idea what the station is? Checked yes.com, no such station... Mixed in with WCCO and WCRN - 'CRN still coming in as of last night for those of you that would like to add another MA station to your DX logs...

KOTC-830 from Kennett, MO was blasting into my clock radio at 1:30 EST this morning here in Lexington, KY. It sounded like a regular broadcast with IDs, commercials and everything. Since WHAS had dropped their I-BUZZ, this frequency is "listenable" again around here. By the way, KOTC is supposed to be a 10 KW daytimer.....

It comes in like a local here in north Alabama, when they're on at night. They do have a CP to move to Memphis, but I don't know if it has been built yet. Kinda different to hear rock/top 40 on AM.

Been pondering that "My 830" question for a few weeks now. Googling My 830 brings up nothing, and the KOTC has no web site.

I have assumed it is daytimer KOTC in Kennett, which the FCC database indicates is supposed to be moving to Memphis. I have heard a station with a PubSvcAnn for a theater production in Poplar Bluff, which is at least 80 miles from Kennett (no station ID), but the "My 830" announcement was not heard during my listen. Makes sense, as the owners of KOTC also own stations in Poplar Bluff and other nearby cities.

Heard here too right now, strong, with classic rock, "My 830" slogan, a "Fox Community Calendar Update" and an ad for what sounded like a transmission shop in Poplar Bluff. Found one internet reference of KOTC using the tagline "My Talk 830".

I'm hearing something under WCCO at nights. Fairly recent development. But so far haven't been able to catch an ID or make out much of the audio. I did catch KOTC barreling in here a couple months ago around sunset. (Northern Illinois).

Last night, I was hearing it pretty well when I'd null out WCCO. Sadly, it faded at the top of the hour so no ID. But plenty of pop from the 70s and 80s, which is fascinating to hear on AM anymore. Got a whiff of another signal on 830 with talk, but it was indistinguishable. Could it be WCRN? Perhaps, but it could also be any number of other stations too. WEEU Reading, PA is even possible.

Did a little checking around - turns out on radio-locator.com for KOTC, the google map shows WHBQ. When I checked WHBQ, they have the same geographical coordinates as KOTC, so likely a diplexed operation, so we won't see any new towers in this case, however, the signal will be very strong near SR 388 and SR 2/US 51...

I'm not so sure they have moved to the WHBQ tower yet.

I know the app was approved, but I have to think the reason for the switch would be to become a Memphis area signal and have access to Memphis revenues. The programming does not yet reflect that.

I'm too lazy, so will someone call them and ask them what is going on? The owners are Steven & Rochelle Fuchs.
