My 95.3 near Champaign/Urbana

Travelling through with our Division II college team, on the way to Upper Iowa University and heard Kent's show promoting the new "MY 95.3...Classic Top-40".....Was impressed, but wonder if they have any local voices??? Then heard the new evolution of 93.3 in Peoria... Great tunage, but no personality and the liners were sub-par.....Is John Riley still there?? He's an ol' WCIL-FM Alumn, as I.... "Skipper T." ::)

All Tom, All the Time: 24/7 with Tom Kent. Nobody local.

I heard a commercial break this morning that must have been four minutes long - one or two commercials and the rest PSAs. So I'd guess sales are low.

The signal is poor in my area (northwest Champaign).

I don't care much for Tom's "I'm really something" shouting style, and he plays too much disco for me.

This morning he went into a break promising to return with a song "we hadn't heard since it first came out," so I stuck around because I enjoy lower-charting songs. But it turned out to be "You're My Best Friend by Queen". Some obscurity.

All Tom is better than MOST all of the jocks in that market. And for a network format it is better than that Gawd-awfull Scott Shannon channel on ABC. You think Tom has an ego?? Check out Shannon! At least TK
works on his content! More than I can say for a lot of jocks these days. FYI, WMYE is licensed to Rantoul.
So, not far from Champaign but far enough to be weaker on the south side of town I guess.

First and foremost...yes, Skip, John's still there! And My 95.3 is a fun station to listen to!
Takes me back to my early years in the business. Nothing local yet. 95.3's tower is northeast
of Urbana...94.5 blankets it out in northwest Champaign...but I get it fine in the southwest part
of the metroplex.

Wow... .8 mhz off and cutting it out!! Somebody get a ball bat on the monster 94.5... Good to see your post JP... Still at UI????
