My best DX catch ever

This morning driving back I10 from Houston around the louisiana border when 'The Buzz' washed out i started hearing dance tunes, Thought it was KSMB, but found it odd theyd spin 2 dance tunes back to back. Then came on the liner 'Las Vegas's 945 The Vibe' Caught it to about Sulphur then it washed into KSMB. WOW best DX catch ever about 1300 air miles.

Specs: KVBE 94.5 96kw Class C from 2090' HAAT

Good catch for these days! I heard from old timers who were in WW2 that they could occasionally pick up WWL at night in Europe, particularly in England. Of course the bands weren't so crowded then. But Vegas to LA is definitely a prize catch. I've been a ham since '61 but my heart is still in SWL'ing.

Cool Catch! Gotta love e-skip... Best was to Nebraska but don't have any info on that one as it was about 15 years ago :-( But have caught KADO (now KATC-FM) 95.1 in Colorado Springs twice in South Louisiana

Most distant FM station I've received is KLCC in Eugene, OR (from Monroe) with a 40' antenna at home one afternoon. I almost didn't believe it because at that time I had never received anything past NV or ID in that direction. Several years later for the first time recieved some California stations in the San Diego area.
