My broadcast gear

The picture of Salem sitting on the console is great. I would love to find a Stereo 80 for sale, that's the console I started on years ago.

The days when you did not have to use tweezers and hot air to do repairs. My cat always loved my tube amplifiers (when the wood stove was not being used).

Me too, circa 1984 on the ole stereo 80. Man, there is some serious weight on those shelves with those ITC Delta machines. One time we were demolishing an old studio to make way for computer automation. I dropped an ITC triple deck from the third story window into the parking lot. Hooked it up and it still worked! Old broadcast gear was built like a tank. Keep the heads clean and change the pinch rollers is all you really had to do. Once a year I would re-align them and get the dust out.

My photos would be embarrassing, except they would look like a "real, old' radio station, run by a miser who grew up during the depression.
Gosh this place need scleaning.........

A wire-crusted, crammed-full tiny u-shaped (by accident) space where records, equipment, chair and a microphone became the main console by default, and it's still running that way years and years later..

That looks pretty dang professional and shiny-new, like..

Nice collection. Let me look and see if I have sone felts for that turntable. Speaking of turntables, my cat used to love to sit on a Gates CB-500 and would stay there spinning at 33 1/3....at 45 she would get annoyed and then sit on the console.

Tom, Back when I had my webstation going I had a beautiful studio, with nearly new pro-grade furniture, an alkost-new console and lots of "modern" broadcast gear. In fact, a friend of mine who owns several terrestrial stations chided me on more than one occasion on how my setup was better than many commercial stations. It was great while it lasted, but after discontinuing the stream I got rid of the majority of the gear - mostly since my new house doesn't have a spare room big enough for full sized furniture! While I've acquired gear to build up my personal studio it still has yet to be build it with my home remodel going slower than expected - at least no matter how crammed your studio is at least it's usable. It's sort of frustrating to have to wait for everything to gel together so I can reassemble my studio. The only thing I'm reallly looking for is its going to be in its own space instead of taking up two-thirds of my living room!
