My Buzz/99x Theory

Here is my conspiracy theory for what it is worth.

The countdown has begun until the Project fan's rebel and a Chris Williams led takeover of the WILD studios begin. At some point over the weekend if not sooner a Lil Wayne song wil be on and you will begin hearing faint arguing in the background. The song abruptly ends, some yeling and screaming is heard a door slams and an active rock song comes on. Chris Williams begins his multi-hour/day studio take-over until CC agrees to turn WILD into the BUZZ.

My guess is most of these Project Facebook support pages and online petitions are probably started by Clear Channel to create some "Buzz". Rumor was Kidd Chris isn't fired or going anywhere else. Why well because he will be back to work next week or the week after on 105.7 the BUZZ. Chris gets to look like the hero again. He is probaly already busy VT'ing his studio takeover.

Bigger question is if Rock 100.5 starts to move towards active if they haven't already do they quickly retreat and bring 99x back to go after Dave since that would be the non-competitive void in the Rock category? I think the answer is yes. Axl moves back to afternoons and Lewis to evenings.

Alt/AAA is doing terrible in a PPM world. 99X is not coming back. It will be lucky to keep its translator. I could see Cumulus dumping [email protected] for a canned-and-VTed active rock station to flank Rock100.5 and keep anyone else from eyeing that format and demo.

I could see, though, Project or Buzz coming back on 105.7 as a stunt as Tibbs describes.

Tibbs, the creative juices are flowing this afternoon.

I am trying to give NM something to laugh about up there today. I am guessing he Brent's post started boring the hell out of him many months ago.

Alt & AAA are not the same.

...

I like this; as Roddy says, very creative. It's like the WCW/DX "feud" in the late 90's. That became their largest ratings/income time ever. This would have to occur on a much shorter timeframe, but at least it would still require the audience to be mostly dumb to buy in to it ;D

They would certainly get points for the theatrics.

Does seem strange to not release folks from Project . . . . and Chula is a better fit on 105.7 if stays Rythmic.

Told ya so.

Though 98.9 is a very weak signal, what is up with Atlanta's radio companies trying to be cannabaistic with their stations? (100.5 and 98.9/96.1 and 105.7) Makes no sense to me.....
