First off, you might want to read my post again, the first part of yours doesn't make any sense as to what I
posted. I think you were reffering to the one before mine. The prior post made reference to soccer mom or the 25-54 staying tuned in because of the 80's tune every once in a while. I made the mention that they wouldn't listen for the one 80's tune every 90 minutes, that they liked the overall sound of the station. Secondly KISS 108FM should not be listed as a true CHR, they should be a Hot AC/CHR Hybrid with that playlist of theirs. Thirdly, again, your TARGET audience is 18-34 female, to play a song twenty years old,
means your putting the oldest part of your demo at 14 when the song was new. Over half were not even
born or too young to remember. Just because an 18-24 might know a song doesn't mean you play it, remember, you're programming for the masses not a handful.
Lastley, I do play golds, but they're from this Century.

1. Even "soccer moms" (does anybody use that term anymore? But I digress) listen to CHR radio. I know lots of early 30 something moms who listen to and love Top 40 radio.
2. KISS 108 should be a Hot AC/CHR hybrid?? I'll let the ridiculousness of that statement stand alone.
3. You keep talking about 18 - 34. 18 and 34 are years apart in attitude and habit. The aforementioned 30 something "soccer mom" (seriously, who STILL uses that term?) is a more attractive demo to advertisers than the 18 - 24 year olds. But we don't want to blur the issue by bringing business into radio...
4. Lastley, Z100, Q102, KISS 108, KHKS, and hundreds of other CHR's are wrong for playing gold pre-2000? Wow, maybe you are ready to start your career as a consultant!?!
My point is and has been, you can't use blanket statements like "no 80's on CHR." With a close minded attitude (not just the 80's titles conversation, but with radio in general), you never know what left-of-center ideas may work for you!!
