My Country 96.1 adding Old School Country Block this Sunday

That's great. There is so much fabulous country music fro the past that does not normally get aired in this area.
Among the country stations in this area, Kicks 105 in the Danbury CT area mixes in some of the older tunes during their normal programming. I don't think Thunder in NJ plays much stuff that goes back a ways.
I believe the last time we had a classic country show in the area was on the old Y 107.
 
Great news, although I no longer live on the island. Look around; this website has a growing list of posts on the subject of classic country music, on a variety of different threads (not just Texas!). J F P
