Dear Tom,

I'm writing you to thank you for all of the support you and WAQX have shown us over the last year. I just thought that it was the proper thing to do, seeing that you sacrificed yourself and your stations "comeback" for our benefit. Also, my staff and I wanted to pass along congratulations on doubling up WWDG's ratings. It's nice to see you beat them. I must confess, I was rooting for you the whole time.

On another note, I like what you've been doing lately. I think it's admirable the way you are steering the 95X ship toward the enemy. Going after the Dog with your new format is the best possible thing you could do. It shows alot of guts taking the fight to them. That number 16 slot in the ranker is an extremely important one. I have faith that you will, indeed, take that slot and hold it.

Best of luck,

Scott Petibone

Legacy?

I'd like to believe that the current state of 95X is the legacy of mismanagement left behind by Gomer, but that might be too kind.

95X is a bad radio station with no discernable talent in the programming department. The music is a mess, the production values vary from moment to moment, the promo scripts are weak, and the on-air presentation is (to be kind) lackluster. The morning show doesn't fit what I would jokingly call the format.

In short, 95X got the latest numbers the old fashioned way - the EARNED them.

A new PD is the only hope of redemption, and that PD is not on staff as far as I can tell.

If a significant change doesn't happen within the next 30 days, write off the next book as well.

My Dearest Roxalot

Can I not just be supportive? It's not all about destroying the other guy and maintaining your position in the face of a brutalized format. It's about community and sticking together during the tough times. It's about intelligent interchange between radio professionals (and brian in order to cover our EEO requirements). I know that 95X and everyone over there is going thru a tough time because I can hear their destroyed morale on the air much like the "can't be bother'd, really don't give 2 shits" attitude which comes across on the air at the Dog (from their imported talent). Rox, you don't understand, we are all going to be out of a job because of Satellite and now is the time to take a stand and be unified.

Respectfully,

Scott Petibone

ps: I hope the wash of sarcasm was thick enough? If not, please let me know, I'll re-type.

Can't We All Just Get Along?

Some people are going to out of a job sooner than others. I'm guessing that February is going to seem like a very LONG month for some people who will be losing their James St. addresses.

Careful, Mr. P.

Citadel will start targeting WTLA.

Imagine, Beaner & Ken doing standards duets. Take that, Markert!
