Only Queenie is going to be disappointed & the class of 74 is busy complaining about sexual references in their kids' hip hop music. Chuck Berry makes 50 Cent come across like Josh Groban.

Actually, Chuck Berry's hit version is a cover. "My Ding A Ling" was originally recorded by Fats Domino's bandleader Dave Bartholomew in 1952, and there was also another hit version in 1953 by R&B group The Bees, under the title "Toy Bell".

Tom, (If this is really you)

Thanks for joining in our insanity.I do have a question for you.
Why does the Bee play abbreviated versions of songs?

for example..

"Night's in White Satin" by the Moody Blues
"Beginings" by Chicago Ok Maybe not right to the end.
I think you play the 45 version of "The Wall"

There are a couple of others.

My piont. People around here are used to the full versions of great classics not a K-TEL version.

Not to insult you. Just asking.

Thanks,
Kenny
Edited by kenwood on 01/22/06 09:01 PM.

Kenny - My reason for "joining the insanity" is to rectify the comments made at the outset of this thread. Interesting assumption without seeing the book.....

In reference to your question, I don't really plan on discussing programming, station happenings, or company news in a public forum like this, but suffice to say that we do play long versions on occasion. We play what we feel works.

I appreciate your listening.

My ding-a-ling...your ding-a-ling...everybody's playin with their own ding-a-ling...

did i make that up..or am i having really bad flashbacks of hearing it on the radio when i was a year old

That's a great way to show professionalism. Maybe some of the "Blasters" can learn something from Tom.
