My Earlier FM-DX History

Well  your discussions of FM DX are always quite
interesting-and-informative.
I want to go over some of my own history,
enjoying this hobby.
Back as early as the late1950s in Jersey,
I remember getting 3s-and-6s from TN-and-MS.
August of 1969 I got my first FMs on E.
1973 in Jersey, a majority of the action was
to Tampa, with 2 other rather large
Floridas June 13 and in August.
I remember June 15, 1974, around 7hours of FM.
1975 had a pattern of beginning in Florida, moving to
MO.  Largest of these was on July 20, 1975.
Quite intense 6 consecutive hours of
multistate action, which the MUF
went up past NOAA posibly to channel12.
June 27, 1976, had 2 6hour blasts, mostly
TX-and-FLA, from what I was told up to channel7
After moving here to Southern Cal in 1978,
by far best was June 07, 1983.
As where many times PAC NW was 15minutes
with fast fades, this night was
intense for more than 6hours.
June 14, 1987 amongest Alberta, I received
2 stations in Jacksonville, FLA from
Inglewood, California
Now here in Sherman Oaks, trying to receive tropo
or E in HD

Nice history! I live in WA state, and I've gotten about 25 stations here via E-skip. Closest (so far) has been 92.1 CHMX Regina, SK at about 815 miles, farthest 101.9 KATP Amarillo, TX at 1360 miles.

I loved FM DXing back in the days before Docket 80-90 and when many smaller stations signed off at 10pm or midnight. From West Central Ohio most of the big Detroit stations were regulars when the band opened up. Lots of things to hear.
