Does anybody find it at all pathetic that the same people who programmed the best CHR in the country during the 60s and 70s won't hire anyone to put those same songs in a computer, AT LEAST?

I'm sorry but thats terrible.

There is so much potential with this... WLS FM, Z95... I'm sure the people who listened to WLS and 94.7 remember these things, so why not put forth some effort to make the station sound good, original, and unique.

There is no excuse for satellite programming on a full signal in market #3. They have a one-way ticket to the same mediocrity they've had for years and years.

I agree. This could have been the perfect opportunity to revive the old WLS and call it "The Big 94.7." A coming full circle of sorts, but it looks like they've only come 270-degrees instead.

The irony is....as mediocre an effort as the new 94.7 is,
it may put the nail in the coffin of WRLL. AM1690 will
see whatever resurgence it had in the last few months
dissipate as the oldies audience returns to the superior
sound quality of 94.7. WRLL was becoming a very respectable
oldies station especially with Ron Smith taking on the role
of station musicologist with his weekly countdown from a
particular week in music history.

Maybe WZZN will improve when actual drive-time personalities
appear later this year and we don`t have to put up with the
"sound" of a puffed-up Scott Shannon telling us what a great
station we have at the new True Oldies Channel.

And the irony for me is I added the ccri-hosted stream for Real Oldies on my Windows Media Player on the new computer I just got last week. And then on my way home from work, I hear that 94. 7 becomes oldies. It's definitely gonna kill them good.

Can you guys keep a secret?

They're probably going to sell off their
radio properties soon...

Don't tell anyone. It's confidential.

Better to fire people today, than pay off
contracts down the road.

Nothing like having the last place FM
in Chicago, to force the change...

I agree totaly, there is no reason for Chicago to have a sattelite based radio station. With that said I think there is hope yet for 94.7 to have decent progrmming, OK so we may never see a full reincarnation of WLS. According to www.100000watts.com WZZN is running sattelite for the time being, but they will have live and local jocks soon. Hopefully along with the jocks will come a good program and imaging director, then 94.7 could have a chance at pulling some good numbers. What do you think Chicagoland? could "the true oldies chennel" get better with "true talent"?
