Well... things have changed on this board since I first visited a few months ago. I thought I'd join and post. Before I do, let me say that I am a country music lover. No longer in radio. But as my username indicates I am still "into" radio. I have several friends in the biz, at various stations in Columbia and throughout the nation. As a non-member of your community, I will say what I want, when I want. Offend whoever, whenever, and rarely take any interest in what any of you have to say. Just thought I'd lay that out there up front.My first comment is about a concert announcement coming Monday. Rumour has it that New 92 is about to announce WCOS's concert wihtout realizing it. I hope this info helps somebody.... I don't really care who.Until I post again.... get a life.
 
I cannot believe the total arrogance I am hearing here. It seems to me that WCOS is running scared of what New 92 is doing to them and let's face it, competition is the name of the game. I am not sure of what concert that they are supposedly stealing from them, but all is fair in love and war in the radio business and if WCOS is not careful, they are not going to be the top dog in country radio in Columbia much longer because WWNU sounds better and plays a better variety of music. I would much rather listen to Jeff Roper and Wendy White than Charlie and Pam any day. I like Pam, but Charlie is a boring goof who has diarrhea of the mouth and if they would just get rid of him, then maybe WCOS could put some spark back into their morning show like they do not have now. I find that listening to New 92 has more energy over all anyhow.
