Another superb broadcaster with tons of experience is on the beach.
Today, Friday September 12, 2008, Anita Bonita became yet another victim of those blasted "budget" issues. Sounds familiar to me for shore.
Anita is one of the most talented people I've ever worked with...and I've sat side by side with some of the best of them over the years in many very large stations.
I have always believed that hard work gets you rewards.
That's how I was raised and tried to achieve for my entire working career (since I was 12 years old delivering papers, and then at 17--no Janice Ian jokes please--when I started doing radio.)
Hard work and talent doesn't mean much in many cases anymore, yet she has that same work ethic that I share. Maybe that's why we get along so well.
Regular Radio STILL has great potential when smart and talented people are allowed to do their ART.
Honestly, I think she's better off. NOW she can concentrate on other things... (Wink wink.) She will be missed by her audience and the many friends that she has made during her nearly three-year-tenure at the shore.
My wife and I give her our total support and un-ending friendship. She was there when I was in dire straights (some of you know what I'm talking about) and we will never forget that. I know many of you wish her well too.
I was so HONORED when she agreed to be my co-host. I hope to be able to do it again (leave the Steely Dan and Beach Boy references at home please.)
Send all messages to ME at [email protected] and I'll make SURE she gets them.
BE BIG Anita...and hold your head HIGH!
