And, for many of you, your friend too. Whatever form your devotions may take, please include Michael in them. He'll probably strangle me for posting this, but he's in an extremely and increasingly tough fight right now...and needs our help.

I had a feeling things weren't going well for him. He just didn't look like himself when I saw him a few months back. Hate to hear that. Yes, he will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us posted on how things are going with him.

Thanks for the update Jody. From his days as the host of the "royal order of the night people" on klif, being the p.d. behind the original knus 99, a couple of national p.d. of the year awards when he was in california to his lower profile career for the last several years here in dallas at krld & with less-visible companies; I'm sure that a lot of people are unaware of the major influence Michael has had on radio in the last 30+ years and more importantly, what a wonderful human being he is.

In this business, it's almost impossible NOT to rub somebody the wrong way, even unintentionally, at some point. And, even though I do not know Michael Spears personally, I have never heard a bad word spoken about the man by those who who do. That, in itself, is a big accomplishment. All the best to you, Michael.

With all that is being said about Michael Spears, I have fond memories of him... including when he was at K104 and the Loop in Chicago-- it was great to have him back here in Dallas working with KRLD-- our thoughts and prayers are with him...

Just a thought!

I don't know know Michael personally, but I do remember him from The Big 8. He was an excellent jock. Our prayers are with him and his family.
