My girlfriend's observations

She said the other night that she didn’t like Beavis & Butthead, you know the guys on 96rock. She called Leslie the “token” (female) and thinks she should give it up. Said Cindy & Ray talk too much. Can not get Q100 or the Buzz very well. Doesn’t know why anyone gave Sean Hannity a job. All the stations play the same damn songs over and over and over…

On the flip side she doesn’t even know there are sports talk stations so I guess they’re spared.

My observation of the Regular Guys

I used to love listening to the regular guys every morning, but they have lost their edge. They have a constant need to have every word they say be funny, rather than letting funny just happen. It has been difficult to listen to. They are creative guys that should let funny happen when it happens, not try to force it.

Take her to Inserection.

Call me crazy, but I don't think a trip to Inserection is gonna explain why Sean "Insanity" Hannity has a job. Ray, and Cindy maybe...<P ID="signature">______________

I was lost on that one too. I guest she really bruised some fragile DJ egos. I thought her comments were funny. That's why I posted them. Oh well.

Lighten up. It was a joke.

Of course, we are unaccustomed to this pratice... this, how you say?, "being funny or entertaining"... is foreign to us in the Atlanta metro. You know, for as many times as we lament this subpar radio, let's remember that radio really, really blows in our fine city. Why? I dunno. It shouldn't be this way.

You know who I've gotten a kick out of, recently? There's this guy who does a fishing/hunting show on WSB Saturday before dawn. O'Neil Outside. Nice, affable guy. Loves and appreciates his listeners. Wife chimes in... it's like something out of the fifties. Too many pros call in to promote themselves, sure, but the show is a gas (yes, I said "gas".)

Guy's got no ego. Happy to have a mic. I don't really fish and I've never hunted... but don't care. One of the few shows that I can just sit back and enjoy.

Loved listening before they were tossed off the air?

Funny happened before because of Southside. Funny happened before because no one was standing by the dump button, ready to launch at the possible hint of something "bad".

It's a different show, for sure.
