My Heart Surgery date is set for March 27th!

Well everyone guess we'll try it again! My surgery date is on March the 27th now! I'll be in Houston for 2 weeks. I'll bring a big antenna along in my room to try to DX. haha. Hopefully everything will go as good as they say it will and I'll be back at it again!
Thanks everyone for the support!

Hey jras20,

Glad to hear that you're moving forward. Let me know if the docs and nurses won't let ya put an antenna up to DX, and I'll get some friends and sneak one in for ya. Maybe the Colonel will have the Hawaiian, Polka, Bowling alley music etc... station up and running to help speed up your recovery. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Hope all goes well jras. Make shure you do bring a huge antenna because this warm weather is bringing in station from all over the coast. Keep us updated.

No need for an antenna. Just split a wire off of your heart monitor and alligator clip it to the metal frame on the hospital bed. With the interior wiring, I'll bet you can get Tijuana AM's in middle of the day!

Seriously, good luck.

I remember the old heart monitors had tapes in them, the new ones have memory cards in them, they causes interference on the AM dial the last time I had to have one on.

lol, holstead. Hey jras, good luck to you my DX buddy. Make sure you get a room on a high floor for those good distant catches. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

HI every one I am online now. Still on pain meds. I may need some blood but hopefully not. But they said it wont be bad if I did. I am short of breath right now. I hope everything will go well around here. I didnt bring along a radio yet. Thats all for now.

Hi jras,

Glad to hear everything is going good so far. I remember when my dad had his bypas about twenty years back, he had the shortness of breath right during his recovery, but was over it by the time he got home. BTW he'll be 80 this year, and hasn't had any recurring problems from the surgery. We'll still be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers, so follow the doc's recovery plan and you'll be back out and about soon.

poops :)

I hope all went OK. We thought of you as we passed through your area a couple of weeks ago - but our schedule was really tight so there was no way to stop by.

Great to hear from you jras.

WHAT!  No Radio? I say you make one of the nurses run down to Family dollar and pick you up a small radio. That should do great for Nighttime AM.:)

Anyways, get well soon.
