I have been laughing non-stop for the past 10 minutes ;D Little did I even-remotely realize that the mere mention of a $24 portable radio would unveil so much silly sophistry! Hold-on... I'm probably misusing that noun. "Sophistry" implies a clever and laborious misuse. There's NOTHING clever about most of these three-star review litanies, and the only thing laborious is the effort required to contain one's laughter after reading them! You've heard the unfortunate axiom that "Radio listeners are stupid"... Reading these comments regarding [of all things—A RADIO] takes this theory to a disturbing new level  I haven't read something so humorously-outrageous on Amazon since... The feeble attempts to put a positive spin on the "legendary" Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio—HD edition :D

I used to wonder why they put all those warnings

on,in,and even stuck to the radio equipment.

Not any more.

Must check the Insignia HD portable for "Warning!

Harmful if swallowed".

(This is better than the pants label: "Do not iron while wearing".)

"No Railroad serviceable parts inside. Do Not Crush with Locomotive."

"Professional Radio Operator on Closed Course. Do Not Attempt Radio Reception at Home.

Do Not Measure above .500 milliamps using tongue.

Insert finger here for instantaneous dismemberment.

Concentration and inhalation of outgassing may result in serious death.

Self-inflicted third degree burns and "genius" in the same sentence?

I bought an Insignia HD radio on Ebay for $22. It is a pain in the neck to shut it off. When I depress, the power button, it shuts off for a few seconds and then the power usually returns. I usually have to try a few times, before it shuts off.

That's probably why you got it on Ebay for only $22
