It's Cameron Smith's site (Smooth Jazz TV). He's a traditionalist..upscale LA guy, really into image/lifestyle designer clothes, cars etc. So it's LA-centric. He's friends with all the in-crowders so he will get plugs from Koz, Kenny G, etc. I guess he's got the money to pay the royalties which are going to be huge with all the streams he's running. I'm with the person who was quoted in the RnR piece and about how following the conventional wisdom of the smooth jazz establishment was one of the things that was killing the creative side of the genre and Smith is deeply a part of the smooth jazz establishment and a believer in conventional wisdom..There is more variety musically but there are a lot of traditionall smooth jazz cliches here as far as presentation and imaging. He does know the artists and have access to a lot of content because of his TV show. Too bad the RIAA has made it impossible for a real innovator to do something similar but more, well, innovative.
