My local Austin, Texas stations get covered by tropo opening/audio clips

First time in a long while where my local Austin, Texas FM stations disappear and get covered by a 450 mile tropo opening to Louisiana and Mississippi. It lasted for about 2 hours. I was hoping it would turn to E skip and go to Alabama and Florida but the dx gods stopped at the Mississippi border ;D

Audio clips here:

Funny you should mention that. I'm in Austin tonight and noticed the same stuff going on earlier today. But since I'm here on business and working, I didn't get a chance to investigate as to where it was coming from.

Its something of a two way street. I'll be on the AL/FL gulf coast in a few days. Gulf front vacation condo, up on the 8th floor right at the state line (two buildings down from the Florabama). FM DX-er's paradise in the summertime. Texans usually not uncommon, but not as far west as Austin. At least not yet. I'll have the Eton E-10 and the Grundig Yacht Boy PE 400 with me this year, and we'll see what happens.
