My Mcintyre to leave red eye radio very sad:(:(:(

I think this is sad news. I really enjoy doug int he overnights. I liked it better when he was doing it local back a few years ago. We shall see how is successor is but i dont feel this is good news for kabc for i bet alot of people listen to it because it is doug mcintyre.I know he is gonna do something different behind the scenes but i am still sad to read this:(

I would like to hear brian whitman do it sometimes but they already have hosts for it is merging with midnight radio etc..

Thats all...

Not good cumulus not good...

No sooner do people find and get to know a host do they fire them. Look at TV shows that did not take off early on. The Charlie Brown Xmas was thought to be a flop, how many years has it been on now?

Good point! When NBC first aired "Bonanza" it didn't exactly set the TV world on fire! But the thing was, the NBC-TV brass noticed that Bonanza looked great in Color, and since NBC was owned by RCA at the time (who wanted to sell Color TV's) they eventually moved it to Sunday nights at 9, and stayed with it. To say the least, both Bonanza and Color TV did OK! lol

I was working as an extra a few months ago on a new sit com on abc called how to be a gentleman and it only aired twice and we were filming episode 8 and when we were having lunch they got the word they were cancelled and the sad thing only after 2 episodes so the suits just dont give things a chance in anyway in any medium!!! But i wonder when it comes to doug if it is his choice or the suits that is the question???

I was looking forward to his thoughts on the election for he agrees with me both bush and obama are incompetent people but so sad not to be able to hear his thoughts on the election:(:(:(

"A Charlie Brown Christmas" was actually a huge ratings hit when it first aired...it was the genius executives at CBS who gave Charles Schulz and his crew a hard time throughout the entire creative process (for example, they didn't want real kids to voice the characters, didn't want Linus reciting the story of Jesus' birth, didn't like Vince Guaraldi's jazz soundtrack, etc.). The execs were very pessimistic and thought it would flop. Fortunately, 50% of all TVs in the U.S. tuned in to that first broadcast and proved them wrong.

Stand corrected, that was the story, the execs did not like it but the audience did,,,anyway...give these shows, radio or TV, more of a chance. I liked that "Defenders" TV show, but they pulled it...

This is really sad. That is the only show and only host that I really respect. Strange that idiots like Larry Elder, John Phillips, Tim Conway Jr are still on the air but a superbly intellectual guy like Doug is leaving. Radio decision makers are just below Ameoba's in my opinion. Maureen Lesourd caused tha downfall of KABC and is the equivalent to the geniuses that causing the banking meltdown.

Also Terri-Rae is leaving KFI. What is going on in this industry?

I respect Doug's intelligence too. Why, he's so smart, he presents himself as a conservative who fell for Obama. Oh, he was so enlightened 2008 and we were all dupes. He saw the light ahead of all of us. Hopefully he has become even smarter over the last three years.

I wonder if mr kabc will still be the the 7th night of midnight radio it will become i think but wonder if he will host?

I like Marc Germain but Doug has been missing quite a lot lately and Marc has been filling in. I haven't had any trouble falling asleep on the nights that he hosts the show. Marc is really dull.

Marc has stayed that his Red Eye Days are numbered. (He said this on his talkradioone show.)

He is doing Red Eye for 2 weeks straight starting Dec 12th.

Mark aka mr kabc had a great show on kabc where he would just take random calls and i feel that format works best for him something mroe unstructured structured so to speak. But bear in mind that was his show red eye radio is not his show.

Is it true that doug is gonna do mourning on kabc with terrie whom just left kfi?

I think that would be smart of the suits to do that but when are suitys smart lately???
